Introduction to Apigenin

Apigenin is an antioxidant compound found naturally in plants. It is found in herbs and vegetables such as parsley, onions, oranges, chamomile, wheat sprouts and some seasonings. Apigenin has anti-inflammatory and bactericidal, relaxing activity, and acaricidal properties. It can be used to treat stomach pain, irritable bowel syndrome and insomnia.


Apigenin belongs to the class of flavonoids. It has the carcinogenic activity of inhibiting carcinogens; as an antiviral drug for the treatment of HIV and other viral infections; an inhibitor of MAP kinase; treatment of various inflammations; antioxidants; sedative, soothe the nerves; blood pressure. Compared with other flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol), it has the characteristics of low toxicity and no mutagenicity.


Apigenin and some of its derivatives are clinically recognized antitumor medicinal materials;

● Suitable for after meals and bedtime drinks.

● for a variety of conditions, including colic (especially in children), bloating, mild upper respiratory tract infections, premenstrual pain, anxiety, and insomnia;

● Used in cosmetic products with whitening, anti-wrinkle, UV protection, or in the treatment of sore and chapped nipples in nursing mothers, as well as minor skin infections and abrasions. Eye drops containing apigenin may be beneficial for eyestrain and mild eye infections.
